Hi there!

I am so happy you’re here. I’m Cait, and I created Edelweiss Homeschool Resources.
Hearing the song “Edelweiss” in The Sound of Music as an elementary-aged girl was a huge core memory for me. My grandma and I used to watch the movie together, and I loved thinking about how the Edelweiss flower symbolized courage, devotion, and purity.
On this blog, I write in-depth about my favorite homeschool routines, methods, and resources. I love sharing reviews, ideas for creative writing projects, DIY board games, and lots of multi-disciplinary enrichment ideas.
You may notice that these homeschooling blogposts mention my four kids, but don’t show their faces! This is intentional. Protecting their privacy is a high value of mine, and I appreciate your understanding. I promise, they’re real! 😉
My favorite subjects to teach (and discuss) revolve around the Humanities: reading, writing, art, religion, philosophy and foreign language. Many of my posts will revolve around these subjects.

Why I created this blog
- I love to write! Writing helps me think, process, set goals, and have vision for my life. Most of my writing thus far has been personal/private (like journals) but I recently began a few big projects after attending a free memoir workshop at my local library.
- I love to teach! My degree is in teaching (Elementary Education & Spanish) and I have been a “teacher” since I first had an opportunity (big sister to three beloved siblings). I taught middle school Spanish, as well as Spanish Immersion Kindergarten, before I had kids. As a homeschool mom, I have taught at two co-ops.
- I love to share and collaborate with other teachers (that means you, homeschool moms!). I started homeschooling my kids in 2023, and love to use my skills to make engaging lessons for them. I also love connecting with other moms about methods, processes, struggles, and the many ups and downs that teaching your own children can bring.

How can I help?
Whether you’re a homeschool educator or a classroom educator, I am here to help! I blog about ideas, resources, and solutions I have used in my homeschooling–thanks to a lot of trial and error.
I also am continually making new resources for homeschool educators. I aim to make them easy to use, fulfill a need for busy parents, differentiate amongst multiple grade levels, and hopefully spark ideas to go even deeper with students. You can browse resources on my Teachers Pay Teachers storefront. If you’ve never heard of Teachers Pay Teachers, you’re in for a treat! Read about how this resource site changed my teaching, here.
Thank you for being here! Leave a comment or reach out: cait@edelweisshomeschool.com, and I’d love to help!
With love,
Cait
